Marcus Rashford has been voted the PFA’s Premier League Fans’ Player of the Year for 2022/23

The forward from Manchester United had an exceptional season in terms of statistics, leading his team to a third-place finish. Rashford concluded the Premier League campaign with 17 goals and five assists in 35 games, demonstrating his ability to perform in important matches and score crucial goals.

What makes Rashford’s performance even more remarkable is that it outshined his previous season in 2021/22, which was his least productive. He made a strong comeback and was honored with an award for his outstanding achievements.

Throughout the season, Rashford was nominated four times for the PFA Vertu Motors Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month award and emerged as the winner once. This victory required him to surpass tough competition. Erling Haaland, the striker from Manchester City who set a new record for the most goals scored in a Premier League season, finished second in the voting. Haaland also won the PFA Vertu Motors Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month award three times.

Martin Odegaard, the Norwegian teammate of Haaland and captain of Arsenal, secured the third position in the voting after being nominated twice for the monthly award. Bukayo Saka, Odegaard’s Arsenal teammate, finished fourth, having been nominated four times throughout the 2022/23 season. Kevin De Bruyne, who once again led the league in assists, ranked fifth, while Harry Kane, formerly of Tottenham Hotspur and currently playing for Bayern Munich, settled for sixth place.
