The rookie Chelsea snatched from Liverpool before even making his debut suffered a serious injury

Rookie Romeo Lavia suffered a serious injury during a training session with Chelsea.

Romeo Lavia has not been able to play for Chelsea’s first team since completing a £58 million deal from Southampton. He is focusing on increasing his physical strength after a summer hiatus. But now he may have to wait a while longer to make his Chelsea debut.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported that the midfielder suffered an injury during training with Chelsea on Friday (UK time).

Previously, coach Mauricio Pochettino updated Lavia’s situation: “He needs a few weeks to be ready to join the team. Lavia is trying to catch up with his teammates. In his case, we need to wait a few weeks”.

This time off from the teams should have given Lavia the opportunity to practice more and get on the field soon, but now the Blues will not be able to use his services for a significant period of time.

Lavia’s injury will cause coach Pochettino more headaches as he previously received the medical records of stars such as Benoit Badiashile, Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana, and Carney Chukwuemeka. The Blues have at least received reinforcements from Reece James recently, as he is making positive progress on his recovery.

Chelsea have yet to confirm the injury through their official accounts, but it appears Lavia will not be available for their trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League on September 17.

Previously, to get Lavia, Chelsea had to overcome fierce competition from Liverpool. After decisively sending this expensive offer, they were able to own this star. Laiva is only 19 years old but has shown great potential with impressive performances with Southampton.
