PSG is having a rather difficult start in Ligue 1 2023/24, winning 2 and drawing 2 after the first 4 matches. Welcoming Nice at home, they are determined to win all 3 points to temporarily take Monaco’s top spot.

Coach Luis Enrique fielded the strongest lineup with the intention of winning quickly and letting the key players rest early to prepare for the match with Dortmund in the middle of next week.

However, his plan was ruined when PSG encountered a deadlock against Nice’s defense. Not only that, they were also the team that conceded first.

In the 21st minute, striker Teremas Moffi silenced the entire Parc des Princes when he accurately scored the opening goal for the away team.

Just 8 minutes later, PSG equalized the score when Mbappe fired after an assist from his close friend Achraf Hakimi. 1-1 is also the score of the first half.

In the second half, Nice continued to be the more impressive team. They scored two consecutive goals in the 53rd and 68th minutes, respectively from Laborde and Moffi, to continue to advance.

It wasn’t until the 87th minute that Mbappe completed the double and shortened the gap to 2-3 for PSG. His assist was substitute Kolo Muani.

However, Mbappe’s efforts were not enough and PSG was forced to accept a 2-3 defeat at home. This is their first loss in Ligue 1 2023/24. The Parisian team dropped to 3rd on the rankings and had poor preparation before the opening match of the 2023/24 Champions League group stage.
