‘Kylian Mbappe’ injury is not serious as expected’ – Luis Enrique

Despite limping off the field in the first half of PSG’s win over Marseille, PSG coach Luis Enrique confirmed that Kylian Mbappe did not have a major injury.

Leonardo Balerdi delivered a vicious tackle to the French international, forcing him to leave the field for treatment. Mbappe attempted to return to the field after being treated by doctors. He was unable to continue playing after only a short time and went straight into the tunnel. This raised concerns about a major ankle damage.

Following the game, the Spanish coach provided an update on his student’s injury situation. He reassured everyone that the agony was not as severe as they had thought, saying, “His injury is not serious, but he was in pain.” I believe it would be preferable if he was removed from the game (replaced). It’s a letdown, but he’s alright.”

Despite the absence of Mbappe, PSG trounced their adversary 4-0 in the French derby. Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring with a fantastic free kick in the eighth minute, and Randal Kolo Muani got his first goal in a PSG shirt in the first half. The home team kept up the pressure and was rewarded. Enrique and his players were rewarded for their efforts as Goncalo Ramos scored twice in the second half to seal an emphatic victory.

Mbappe, for his part, has been in excellent form this season, scoring 7 goals in just 5 Ligue 1 outings. He aims to make his comeback against Clermont Foot on September 30.
