Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric reported in ‘quiet’ talks with Inter Miami

Inter Miami is apparently interested in Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.

With just under a year left on his current contract with Carlo Ancelotti’s side, the 38-year-old has been linked with a move that would reunite him with Lionel Messi, his former teammate at Barcelona. According to the Dubrovnik Times, Los Blancos co-owner David Beckham has pushed for the Croatian to be transferred due to his lack of playing time.

The main concern for Inter Miami is whether or not signing Modric will breach their salary cap. Luis Suarez has been linked with a move to Gerardo Martino’s side, who have also been linked with Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets in recent weeks. This season, the 38-year-old has yet to live up to his full ability, having started only one La Liga game for the league’s top team, Real Madrid. Ancelotti’s team will travel to Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday in an attempt to keep their unbeaten start going.
