Trent Alexander-Arnold will be available for Liverpool’s Saturday trip to Tottenham Hotspur, according to Jurgen Klopp. Since suffering a hamstring ιnjury in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa earlier this month. However, if he gets through Friday’s practice session without incident, the defender is expected to play with the team early this week.
“Trent practiced normally yesterday. Will practice normally today,” he told the media. “So we need to decide. But he will be in the team; i can’t decide that because i’m not a doctor, but it looks like he can play in the team tomorrow.
However, Liverpool will have to live without Stefan Bajcetic due to the young Spanish player’s ankle ιnjury, while Thiago Alcantara is still absent even though they are ready to welcome Alexander-Arnold.
After recovering from the adductor ιnjury that ruined his breakthrough season at Anfield in March, Bajcetic has made two appearances this month. Thiago, on the other hand, has not played for Liverpool since April following hip surgery. Despite returning to train with the team briefly, the veteran is not yet ready to return due to ιnjury before the international break.
“Stefan had a little, little, little, little setback,” Klopp confirmed. “The problem with Stefan, I can imagine everybody wants to see him play more. I want (too) but we have to be really careful.
“Now, it’s a little, little, little, tiny calf issue. That’s how it is when you’re six months out and we try everything to get him up to speed without pushing him. Train, make a very specific plan for him, but in the end it’s disappointing for him, of course and for us as well.
“He got another one so we have to take him out for a little bit. He can work on pretty much everything else but not playing. That’s it I would sаy. Thiago still out, Conor still out. I think that’s it.”
