Marcus Rashford’s selfish play and poor decision-making ability angered the Man United coaching staff

According to Manchester Evening News, the Man United coaching team was very disappointed with what Marcus Rashford performed against Crystal Palace.

Erik ten Hag’s side put in an impressive performance against Roy Hodgson’s side in the League Cup four days ago. That was the match in which Rashford was prepared to be fully fit for the rematch against Palace in the Premier League tonight.

However, the British star could not have a convincing match. He handled the ball too cumbersomely and unwisely and many times let Man United’s attacks crumble.

Red Devils fans have expressed their disappointment with Rashford on social networks. And Man United’s coaching team cannot be satisfied with what the player wearing the number 10 shirt has shown. Ten Hag even pulled Rashford back to direct before the first half ended.

In the second half, Rashford continued to have problems against the Palace defense. He was moved to the right wing after Alejandro Garnacho came on midway through the second half but could not make a difference. In the end, coach Ten Hag was forced to withdraw the 25-year-old striker from the field in the 76th minute.

Marcus Rashford has only scored 1 goal in 8 appearances this season. In the defeat against Crystal Palace, he had a disappointing performance, with poor decision-making.

As the player who scored the most goals for Man United with 30 goals last season, this season, Rashford struggled to repeat that impressive form.

“I think  Marcus Rashford knows he can do better than what he is doing now,”  said Ten Hag. “He works hard, he will reap the rewards and the goals will come. Things don’t happen automatically.

As you saw today, we were in the right position, but the decision-making wasn’t good enough and we couldn’t score.”

Ten Hag added: “It was a bad start. We have to pick up the pace and do better. We weren’t good enough. Of course, that’s frustrating for everyone, especially the fans.

It’s frustrating, but we have to stay together, fight together, get better, and make sure we improve.”
