Kylian Mbappe returned but could not score, PSG had to sadly accept a draw

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) drew a humiliating match against local team Clermont in Ligue 1 round 7 due to forward Kylian Mbappe’s poor performance.

With only one point after six games against Clermont, many football experts and fans believe that the team currently leading the Ligue 1 table, PSG, will easily win even though they must travel to Gabriel-Montpied Stadium.

However, despite dominating the home team, PSG was unable to shake Mory Diaw’s net.

PSG had 21 shots in this match, and many solid possibilities were generated. However, Mbappe and his teammates were rendered useless in the face of goalie Diaw’s outstanding performance.

Diaw made numerous stops for Clermont Foot, leaving PSG players shaking their heads in anger as they sought a goal.

Mbappe had the ball in the penalty area in the 32nd minute of the first half and had ample time to shoot dangerously towards the right post. However, Clermont was superbly saved by goalkeeper Mory Diaw.

Mbappe continued to shake the opponent’s goal in the second half, which lasted less than 10 minutes. Mbappe, in particular, blew a golden chance after receiving a beautiful pass in the penalty area, but his effort struck the right post.

Clermont-Ferrand again created quick and incisive counter-attack opportunities, but goalkeeper Donnarumma played equally well to save PSG (in the 47th and 53rd minutes). The game eventually finished with no goals scored.

PSG surrendered the top spot in Ligue 1 to AS Monaco after being held to a stalemate by Clermont after 90 minutes of play, dropping to third place in the rankings. Meanwhile, Clermont is in last place with only 2 points after 7 rounds, with 1 point.
