There are few people as committed as Connor Bedard.
After practice on Saturday, the first selection of the Blackhawks remained in good shape. He engaged in “two-puck” games with Drew Commesso, Wyatt Kaiser, and Lukas Reichel. He was shooting on his own. And before he eventually left the rink, he spent roughly ten minutes by himself skating around the ice.
In his Blackhawks preseason debut, Bedard assisted on two goals against the St. Louis Blues, including the overtime game-winning goal. He made a few shots on goal, one of which followed an amazing toe-drag maneuver.
He was impressive all around.
In the team’s second preseason game against the Nashville Predators tonight, he is not anticipated to play. His performance was evident enough to convince the coaches that he is prepared for the regular season.
Keep a watch out for this young person. He is incredibly talented and a diligent worker.
In addition, he is incredibly stoic, modest, and driven to succeed.
Following his debut preseason game, Bedard declared, “I think I can be a lot better.” “I didn’t think my own performance was very good. Naturally, this is preseason play, so it’s great to win. Gaining is the best thing there is. It is excellent that I felt comfortable using the systems. In the D-zone, I was fairly at ease. But I believe I’m capable of much more.”
