For the first time since accusations of domestic abuse, Manchester United star Antony has been photographed returning to training.
The 23-year-old Brazil winger hasn’t featured for the Red Devils since their September 3 loss to Arsenal 3-1.
However, tomorrow in the Champions League against Galatasaray, he might mount a comeback.
When Antony returned to England last week, he went to a Greater Manchester Police voluntary interview.
The accusations leveled against Antony in the UK and in his native country are refuted by him.
The winger, who was snapped at Carrington yesterday, may return to the mix for Erik ten Hag’s struggling team when they play the Turkish team at Old Trafford.
It follows their 1-0 home loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday, which was their fifth loss in nine games in all competitions this season.
Gabriela Cavallin, his ex-girlfriend, finally spoke up yesterday after he resumed training.
MailOnline reported that a press release from Gabrela Cavallin’s attorneys stated, “We believe that he will soon be sent to Court, where he will have to face a trial. The player’s crimes are still being investigated by the Manchester Police and also the Brazilian Police.”
“We believe it is evident that lies would be spread with the hope that the team would reinstate him for training.”
“There will be no “distraction” from the troubled player’s return to the squad, according to United manager ten Hag.
The club has been embroiled in a number of scandals lately, including those involving Mason Greenwood and Ten Hag’s ongoing conflict with Jadon Sancho.
According to Dutchman ten Hag, he has spoken with Antony.
According to reports from Brazil, Gabriela told authorities that she was assaulted four times by £150,000-a-week Antony.
She had already claimed that, while on vacation in Brazil and pregnant, she was attacked for the first time in June 2022.
Additionally, she stated that in a Manchester hotel in January, Antony punched and headbutted her, breaking her breast implant.
She also claimed that in May, he hurled a glass at her, breaking her finger.
On Sunday, Cavallin led the demand in an exclusive interview with The Sun for Antony to be cut from the squad.
“Antony needs to be taken off the pitch,” Gabriela declared. It is disheartening that he can continue to play while the investigation is ongoing.
“I am completely ruined by the entire procedure. How can he carry on with his life as usual?
“They can’t just sit there with what they know and do nothing. He must be taken out.”
Earlier this month, Antony gave a moving interview in which he refuted the accusations brought against him and expressed no concern about his future with United.
He stated: “It’s not something that occurs to me. Never did I touch her.
Though I am aware that many people are killing me, the truth always comes to light. I can say with absolute certainty that I have never touched a woman.
“I want to prove that Antony is innocent of all of this and I dream of getting back on the national team.”
