On talkSPORT, Mark Goldbridge believes Liverpool are a better team than Manchester United – even if they are two behind.
The Red Brigade played with only 9 people in the controversial 1-2 loss to Tottenham. Despite being at a huge disadvantage, Liverpool showed courage and resilience as they not only sought a draw – but a chance to win.
Meanwhile, Man United lost their fourth Premier League game of the season as Crystal Palace won 1-0 at Old Trafford.
Speaking on his show, Goldbridge said: “There are a lot of teams better than Man United but it would be a big statement to say that Liverpool with nine men is still better than Man United with 11.”
“But it’s true, Man United have no identity, they don’t have players who want to play football and they don’t really seem to know how to play football.”
“I don’t really blame the coach, I don’t think [Jurgen] Klopp or Pep [Guardiola] or [Roberto] De Zerbi will help Man United play better football. That’s why a team of Nine people working together for one purpose can do what Liverpool did, which is almost impossible.”
