The FA plans to impose a fine on Alexis Mac Allister after the midfielder hinted that Liverpool would have to play with 12 people against Tottenham.
The competition between Tottenham and Liverpool last weekend was mentioned a lot because of the decisions of the referee. After the match, the Premier League referee agency even had to apologize for mistakes during the match.
Liverpool suffered heavy losses after the above defeat. Not only did they lose points, but coach Klopp’s team also faced the suspension of Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota because of red cards. Not to mention Cody Gakpo was injured and left the possibility of playing in the next matches open.
But everything did not stop for Liverpool when Alexis Mac Allister faced the risk of being fined by the FA for uncontrolled words on social networks. Before that, the Argentine midfielder had an argument with Tottenham defender Romero.
Specifically, Romero posted on his personal page a photo commemorating the victory over Liverpool. Mac Allister later commented, “you can’t win if you play against 12 people”. Romero did not hesitate to respond “Go home and cry”.
The comment was later deleted, but fans were able to capture the “war of words” between the two Argentine players. Mac Allister’s words meant that the referee of that match was too biased towards Tottenham and caused Liverpool to receive a painful defeat.
Sky Sports said Mac Allister’s actions risk receiving a penalty from the FA. The English football governing body judges the midfielder’s words to be inappropriate and may issue an appropriate penalty to the Liverpool player.
