PSG to recruit Antoine Griezmann to pair with Mbappe

PSG (Paris Saint-Germain)’s performance since the beginning of the 2023-24 season has not been really stable, despite Kylian Mbappe’s consecutive goals (8 goals in 6 appearances).

This forces PSG officials to consider transfer plans next January, with the target Antoine Griezmann.

Griezmann was one of PSG’s main targets last summer, but could not convince Atletico when negotiating.

After that, the Parisian team moved to recruit Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona and it was ineffective.

Dembele played 7 matches this season, between Ligue 1 and Champions League, with a total of 510 minutes but has not scored a goal. He did not meet the expectations of filling the void of Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Up to now, Dembele has only had one assist, when he made a pass to Goncalo Ramos to increase the score to 3-0 in the 4-0 win over Marseille in Ligue 1.

The French press recently repeatedly criticized Dembele as the reason why the team led by Luis Enrique only ranked 5th in Ligue 1 after 7 rounds.

This further strengthens rumors that PSG wants Griezmann in the next transfer window.

From Spain, some news sites in Madrid said that the French football champion is in contact with Grizi to convince him to agree to a transfer.

PSG officials highly appreciate Griezmann – whose total transfer price is 180 million euros between changing clubs – despite the fact that he turns 33 next spring.

Sports director Luis Campos believes Grizi will support Mbappe well if he comes to the Parc des Princes, just like their chemistry in the French team.

In addition to his ability to coordinate the play, Griezmann had 4 assists for Mbappe to score for “Les Bleus”. For his part, Kylian responded with 3 decisive passes for Grizi.

Fichajes revealed that PSG even proposed to Atletico to use Dembele in exchange for Griezmann in January 2024.
