Social media attention is generated by trainer Chris Brickley’s star-studded Black Ops open runs every summer. Basketball fans get to see their idols shoot hoops and compete against other elite players in addition to seeing what else they are up to.
Because he intended the training and open runs to be covert, he first gave the runs the moniker “Black Ops.” Brickley is providing you with an inside look at another season of Black Ops Basketball right now.
Early Bird Award: Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler is the only one who exercises out first thing in the morning. He arrives in the mornings with a different kind of intensity; the gym will feel like a sauna with either heavy metal or country music blaring from the speakers. I believe I still dream about the number 78 since every time Jimmy worked out, the gym had to be set for that exact number. He not only had a great exercise, but the entire gym worked up a sweat.
Jimmy is primed for one of his greatest seasons to date! He spent a fantastic summer working out.
Breakout Season: Bones Hyland
Mentor Award: Donovan Mitchell
Working with Bones during the off-season was new for me. Every session we had together, he was amazing. He shot the ball so brilliantly, and I was shocked by both his positive attitude and stroke of luck. I believe he is in a wonderful place at the Clippers, and I can’t wait for him to have a breakout season.
Draft Day Award: Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore
Carmelo Anthony won the Mentor Award for the previous few off-seasons. The next winner of that honor is Donavan Mitchell, who not only coaches aspiring NBA players but also some of the best players in the country. He would chat with people like Ian Jackson and Elliot Cadeau after workouts, giving them some real jewels on the path to prodom.
The Future Award: Cooper Flagg
The NBA Draft was excellent for the Houston Rockets. Amen and Cam, in my opinion, could both have an impact right away this season. Both players are extremely motivated to improve and play both sides of the ball. I would want to thank the Houston scouting department for their hard work.
Best BlackOps Duo: Klay Thompson and Kevin Love
That Cooper is a once-in-a-generation kind of player, in my opinion. He can finish above the rim with both hands and is incredibly flexible. He is excellent on defense and a continual matchup concern offensively. He is an animal. He has an uncanny ability to block shots, and his skill is on par with what I’ve seen in high school. That DOG is in him.
Cooper was among the most impressive players at the Brickley Invitational before he reclassified.
Although Kevin Love and Klay Thompson grew up together, they were never teammates. It was amazing to watch them play together on the Black Ops run this offseason. They may have been the first team in BlackOps history to win five straight games. You may have assumed that they were former teammates based on the way they spoke highly of one another.
K-Love was finding Klay, who was moving the ball out, and vice versa. They appeared to have both made all of their shots.
Football Player Hooper Award: Tom Brady and Steffon Diggs
If I were forming an NFL player basketball team. Tom Brady as my shooting guard and Stefon Diggs as my point guard are my top choices. When it comes to basketball, these two lads are extremely gifted. Although Diggs is a better playmaker, I believe Tom Brady is a superior shooter. Diggs is also bouncy.
Most Viral Moment: Tom Brady
Without a doubt, the Tom Brady exercise went viral. It received 34 million views in its first 48 hours on all platforms. It was shared 58,600 times on my Facebook. That is the highest rating for a summertime video. THE GOAT is Tom Brady!
