Liverpool’s appeal failed and Curtis Jones still had to endure three-match ban because of the red card

The red card that Curtis Jones received while playing for Tottenham on the road on Saturday has been upheld after Liverpool’s unsuccessful appeal.

Jones received a yellow card for his sloppy and clumsy challenge, which resulted in his boot going over the ball and planting itself in the shin of Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Referee Simon Hooper was given the instruction to watch the challenge again, and after doing so, he decided to raise the card’s severity to red.

After that, Liverpool filed an appeal against the judgment, but the club confirmed on Tuesday evening that the appeal had been dismissed.

Jones will now be required to serve a three-game suspension, during which time he won’t be able to participate in the matches against Brighton, Everton, or Nottingham Forest.

According to a statement released by the club, “Curtis Jones is set to serve a three-match Premier League suspension after an appeal to overturn the red card he received at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday was unsuccessful.” [Curtis Jones] was given the red card after he was involved in an altercation with another player on Saturday.

The challenge, which occurred in the 26th minute of the Merseyside outfit’s 2-1 loss in north London, has caused a lot of controversy ever since it happened.

Jamie O’Hara, a former player for the Spurs who is now a host on talkSPORT, stated “It’s a shocking challenge.” A crusher of legs.”

Gary Neville, a pundit for Sky Sports, took a different stance, though, and defended Jones in the debate.

He made the following comment: “No, no, no. I understand what it’s like to do someone because I’ve been in that position before, but he wasn’t there to do someone.

“They are displaying the final motion, which does not seem good.

But that’s not how it turned out to be there; he just let the ball slip out from under his foot.

“He is not going to get a red card for this, but he is going to get one, and it is probably going to ruin the game.”

Diogo Jota was also one of the players for Liverpool to be ejected; he was issued his marching orders after receiving two yellow cards in rapid succession. Jones was not the only player to be ejected.
