Despite just owning Robert Sanchez in the summer transfer window, Chelsea is still very interested in recruiting Mike Maignan from AC Milan.

According to Daily Mail, Chelsea is currently closely monitoring the situation of Aaron Ramsdale, who lost his starting position to David Raya at Arsenal. The former Sheffield star is said to be able to leave the Emirates to play regularly, thereby participating in the Euro 2024 finals with England next summer.

The Blues are likely to recruit the 25-year-old in the January 2024 transfer window. Chelsea are still willing to sign another goalkeeper despite bringing in Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic in the summer transfer window.

However, coach Mikel Arteta announced that Arsenal will not let Aaron Ramsdale leave, while the goalkeeper announced that he will stay at the Emirates to compete fairly with David Raya. Most recently, after having difficulty with Arsenal’s goalkeeper, Chelsea turned to recruiting Mike Maignan from AC Milan.

Billionaire Todd Boehly really likes Maignan, who is in excellent form for AC Milan. The 28-year-old goalkeeper went through 74 official matches with 66 goals conceded, including 32 clean sheets. France’s number 1 goalkeeper currently started 6 matches for Milan this season, with 50% of the matches he did not have to go into the net to pick up the ball.

Milan is negotiating an extension with Maignan. However, Chelsea hopes the amount of 80 million euros will help them get what they need. The London team is discussing whether to ask to buy Maignan in January or wait until Summer 2024 to make an offer.
