Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo won the Saudi Arabian National Championship Player of the Month title for the second time in a row.
Ronaldo’s team had a disappointing start to the season, losing two matches to Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq and Al-Taawoun. However, giant Riyadh woke up in time to have a series of 6 wins, thereby narrowing the gap with top team Al-Hilal to only 2 points.
Al-Nassr’s impressive achievement is thanks to the performances of stars such as Sadio Mane, Anderson Talisca, and Ronaldo, who helped Al-Nassr score 23 goals. As for the 38-year-old star, Ronaldo scored 8 goals and had 4 more assists, contributing to 12 goals for the home team.
With the above achievement, the Portuguese star won the title of best player of September in the Saudi Arabia National Championship. This is the second consecutive month that CR7 has won this award.
With a total of 10 goals after 8 rounds, Ronaldo is leading the list of “Top scorers” in the Saudi Arabia National Championship, 4 more goals than the group of 6 players behind Moussa Dembele, Malcom, Sadio Mane, Salem Al. -Dawsari, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Mourad Batna (6 goals).
Not only that, but the former Real Madrid star is also leading the assist list with 5 successful passes, ahead of Mateus Castro, Abdulrahman Ghareeb, Jordan Henderson, Riyad Mahrez and Mourad Batna (4 assists).
Ronaldo’s standout performance in September was Al-Nassr’s 4-3 win over Roberto Firmino’s Al-Ahli when the 38-year-old scored a brace past former Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
Al-Nassr coach Luis Castro was also honored with the Best Coach of the Month award. In the next round, Al-Nassr will return home to welcome Abha. If they continue to extend their unbeaten streak, Ronaldo’s team will have a chance to rise to the top of the rankings.
