James Harden, the frustrated guard who had been looking for a trade, joined his teammates as an active participant at training camp on Wednesday, making his way back to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The ten-time All-Star, whose relationship with the Sixers front office had soured, nevertheless showed up for practice on the Colorado State campus. He did not show up for the team’s first day of camp in Colorado on Tuesday or their media day in New Jersey on Monday.

In June, Harden chose to exercise his $35.6 million contract option for the current campaign, thinking the franchise would attempt to move him. When no deal transpired, he called team president Daryl Morey a liar and lambasted Morey during a promotional event in China.

This week, the 76ers are working out at Moby Arena, the home of the Rams basketball club. The Sixers are also making some local trips. Recently, Denver Broncos football coach and NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders hosted dinner and a conversation with Joel Embiid and his teammates in Boulder, a nearby city.

Sanders talked about issues like pressure, teamwork, living in the moment, and what it’s like to transfer from Jackson State, a historically Black institution or university, to Colorado, a struggling program that has just finished a 1-11 season. In college football, the Buffaloes (3-2) continue to be spoken about.

Before the meal, Sixers owner David Adelman stated that new coach Nick Nurse had asked for the trip to Colorado in order to fit in some altitude conditioning. In June of last year, the Nuggets defeated Miami in five games to win their first NBA title in team history.

Shortly after the team’s matchup with Sanders, Adelman declared, “The road to a championship for the NBA goes through Denver.” “You’ll see us here in June, so we’ll get used to it.”

Doc Rivers, who never got the Sixers past the second round of the playoffs, is being replaced by Nurse.

 

 

 

 

The club welcomes back Joel Embiid, the current NBA MVP. Philly grabbed center Mo Bamba and guard Patrick Beverley to bolster its lineup. The club also added Danny Green, a seasoned player.

At dinner, Sanders addressed the Sixers, saying, “And you add some pieces that you feel should be the difference.” “You guys really need to recognize how much you really want it when you look at each other and hold each other accountable. For it, what are you prepared to do? How far will you go to achieve it, and what are you willing to give for it? Will you put forth a lot of effort to achieve it?

“I take it that all of you are among the greatest in the industry? However, you must assemble it.”
