LFC squad vs Union SG: Line-up hint and Cody Gakpo latest update as THREE players likely to be missing

Liverpool could take another huge stride toward winning the Europa League group by beating Union Saint-Gilloise at Anfield on Thursday, with Jürgen Klopp expected to make wholesale changes to his starting lineup once more.

Caoimhn Kelleher appears to be the Europa League goalkeeper, while Harvey Elliott, Wataru End, and Kostas Tsimikas should all be hopeful of getting a start against a side that Liverpool should be able to easily dispatch of, as they did against LASK despite going a goal down on matchday one.

Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota are both expected to miss Liverpool’s match against Brighton on Sunday, so they might as well play here. Jones will not be ready to play in the next Premier League game until the visit of Luton Town on November 5.

With those combination involved and a strong enough remainder of the lineup, Liverpool should be confident of winning this game, especially with home advantage. With Union SG drawing with Toulouse in its first encounter, there should be a possibility for Union SG to extend its advantage as the top-ranked team in the group.

It is critical for Liverpool to lead the rankings because it will avoid having to play in the round of 32 after Christmas, allowing it to make its European tour this season shorter than it would typically be in the Champions League.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was the guy chosen for the news conference, which normally signals the player is expected to start, with the full-back in need of minutes after recovering from injury. Cody Gakpo will not play in this game and may be out for a while after picking up an injury against the Spurs moments before scoring the equalizer.
