Fans of the Boston Celtics are interested in learning more about the guys and their families as the club fights the Milwaukee Bucks for a berth in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
In Game 4 of the series, which went down on Monday, Celtics player Al Horford scored a playoff career-high 30 points, which came after Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo received a technical foul for screaming something in Horford’s way.
“I didn’t make out what he said, but the way he looked at me didn’t sit well with me,” Al stated to ESPN after the game. I was energized by that.
Following that major milestone in Hortford’s career, fans are anxious to know more about the NBA vet and his entire family. Amelia Vega, a model and singer from the Dominican Republic, is the player’s wife.
Vega has a fascinating profession of her own, just like the spouses of other famous and successful basketball players. In addition to her career as a fashion model, Vega is famous for making history as the first woman from the Dominican Republic to win the Miss Universe competition.
Plus, she has acted in two films and published the CD Agua Dulce in 2011. The beauty also runs two businesses in Miami named “Essence by Amelia Vega.” In 2007, Amelia hosted the Bachelor-style show Suegras on Telemundo in addition to the reality shows Voces de America and Segunda Oportunidad from Mexico.
In addition to being the first Dominican to win Miss Universe, she also broke a few other records during her reign. Vega’s 18 years also made her the youngest winner since 1994. Since her height set a record, she has remained the tallest Miss Universe ever.
Al, a fellow Dominican, and Amelia are the proud parents of four young children: Ean, 7, Ala, 5, Ava, 3, and Nova, 1. They tied the knot back in 2011.
According to the Boston Globe, Horford and Vega first crossed paths 15 years ago at the Latin Pride Awards in Boston. Before joining the Celtics a few years back, Al played for the Atlanta Hawks. Soon after signing the contract, he moved to Boston with Vega and the kids.
Horford claims he knew he was going to marry Vega the moment he started dating her, despite the fact that the couple didn’t start dating until four years after they first met.
As our relationship progressed, it was clear that she was the one for me. Horford told Latina that the move “just felt right.” When someone told me anything unbelievable, I would always laugh it off or refuse to trust them. With her, everything just clicked, and I knew we were meant to be together forever.
They’ve been married for over ten years now, and they have five lovely children.
