Mo Salah on the verge of overtaking Kenny Dalglish’s record ahead of Brighton game

When Liverpool and Brighton meet in the Premier League on Sunday, Mohamed Salah has the chance to become the club’s all-time leading scorer.

Salah has six goals against Brighton for Liverpool thus far, matching the score of Anfield hero Kenny Dalglish, according to the club’s official website. With one more goal, Salah will have surpassed the great Scotsman’s scoring record in this match.

Mohamed Salah already has the most Premier League goals by an African player and appears poised to break another record.

Since joining Liverpool for £34.3 million from AS Roma in 2017, the Egyptian has been one of the club’s most dependable players. Salah, a prolific goalscorer and playmaker, has evolved into one of the world’s best forwards.

The Egyptian international is no stranger to racking up achievements in the red jersey. After joining Liverpool in 2017, he was named Premier League Player of the Season after scoring 32 goals in 2017-18. He has also won the Golden Boot three times, an incredible feat for a winger.

Salah continues to deliver and set records. Surpassing a legend like Dalglish would be a historic achievement in and of itself. Sunday’s game will mark eight years since Jurgen Klopp took over as manager of the Reds. Klopp has overseen 190 victories in 303 league games with the Reds.

Liverpool have had recent success at Brighton’s home field, losing only once in six Premier League visits under Klopp. However, we had a horrible run of results against them last season, which needs to be rectified as quickly as possible.

They’ll be hoping that an in-form Salah can make a difference again this weekend. By scoring his eighth goal against Brighton, the Egyptian sensation would cement his place in Liverpool history.
