Karim Benzema appears uneasy as his Al Ittihad teammates surround him and sing Joshua Hall’s name

Karim Benzema of AL ITTIHAD looked embarrassed and uncomfortable as his teammates flocked around him and yelled his name.

The Real Madrid icon joined the Saudi Arabian club earlier this summer in a mega-money deal worth over £170 million per year.

The Frenchman made the surprising transfer following a 14-year spell with Real Madrid.

His teammates appear to be in awe of his trophy-laden career, as they crowded around him to chant on the team bus.

A video showed the World Cup winner clumsily clapping along as they sang happy birthday to him.

Fans flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the video, which has divided views.

One fan compared Benzema’s predicament to that of Newcastle’s new addition Sandro Tonali, implying that Benzema did not want to be at the club.

They wrote: “A bit like Tonali at Newcastle. Unhappy. Doesn’t want to be there.”

Whilst other fans jumped to Benzema’s defence and claimed that the video was misleading.

One wrote: “Benzema is the happiest person since he has moved to the greatest club in the continent of Asia.”

Whilst another wrote: “All the players of Al-Ittihad Club are motivated.”

The Saudi Pro League club is assembling a talent-studded squad, with N’Golo Kante and ex-Celtic player Jota also arriving this summer.
