It’s a good thing that few people watch the NBA preseason. On Sunday, Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown will definitely be grateful.
Brown played in Sunday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 6-foot-6 forward didn’t realize he was ill-prepared for the game because he was wearing his uniform sideways.
While the rest of the Celtics and 76ers wore their team and Nike logos on the front, Brown wore them on the rear, which triggered the live TV broadcast during the game.
“I think Jaylen Brown put his pants on backward,” former Celtics forward Brian Scalabrine reacted. “I just saw the Celtics logo in the back and I’m like, wait a minute here. Maybe it’s a new style trend.”
The $300 million player eventually realized what was going on, exited, and returned to the game with his shorts in order.
It’s one of the strangest on-court incidents in recent memory, alongside the guy who took McDonald’s to a collegiate basketball game and the rare sticky animal rights protest.
Brown and the Celtics had the last laugh on Sunday, defeating the 76ers without James Harden, 114-106. Brown finished with 19 points in 26 minutes.
