Manchester United ‘pushing hard financially’ to recruit Real Betis star to replace Casemiro

After Casemiro’s injury, Manchester United is apparently putting a lot of effort into signing Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodríguez.

During United’s 3-0 Carabao Cup loss to Newcastle, Casemiro left the game injured.

Subsequently, it was verified that the Brazilian had suffered a hamstring injury, which is anticipated to prevent him from playing for an extended duration.

He is the most recent in a string of United players who have struggled this season with various physical setbacks, a problem that has seriously impeded the team’s development.

Estadio Deportivo via SportWitness reports that Rodriguez of Betis has already been identified by United as a potential replacement in order to account for Casemiro’s absence.

Rodriguez had previously been connected to the Red Devils. In the summer of 2022, he was reportedly being considered by the club, but nothing came of it.

As of right now, it’s known that United has “returned with force” for the 29-year-old, and it’s thought that he could make it to Old Trafford.

The World Cup winner’s contract with Betis is about to expire next summer, which makes him a compelling alternative. He has not yet signed any new contracts, therefore it is unclear how long he will stay with the Spanish company.

Although they haven’t given up entirely on locking Rodriguez down, Betis are reportedly ready to lose him.

However, Manuel Pellegrini’s team is aware that, with United looming, the winter transfer window is their last opportunity to receive a fee for selling their star.

Rodriguez will be signed by United using their “inexhaustible chequebook.” The 20-time English winners are reportedly “pushing hard financially” for the international player from Argentina.

Rodriguez had the opportunity to leave Betis in the summer, but he turned it down for family concerns, according to SportWitness.

The footballer was eager for their child to be born in Seville, as was his partner.

United might, however, reconsider his position. A successor has already been set aside by Betis. Everything hinges on the amount of money United is prepared to spend on Rodriguez.
