An unofficial Manchester United fan channel was criticized by Marcus Rashford for “spreading malicious rumors” concerning the player’s association with the club.
The forward for Manchester United decided to celebrate his birthday at the nightclub Chinawhite on October 29th, following his team’s 0-3 home loss to Manchester City.
Manager Erik ten Hag deemed his festivities “grossly unacceptable.” The manager stated, “I discussed the matter with him.” Such conduct is deemed unacceptable. His apology concluded the matter. “This is an internal matter for us.” Ten Hag further stated that Rashford was “completely on board with us” and “extremely motivated to make amends.”
The club then disclosed that Rashford’s absence from the Carabao Cup loss to Newcastle and the weekend victory at Fulham was due to a knock he sustained during training.
However, the United Stand, an unofficial fan channel that amassed hundreds of thousands of views, criticized the striker’s commitment to the club, with one presenter stating that he “does not buy” the theory that Rashford’s absence was due to a knock and suggesting that it could have been a form of punishment.
Rashford expressed disapproval and responded to the video on X with the following: “Please cease disseminating malicious rumors.”
The dispute concerning Rashford’s birthday festivities was not the initial instance of his disagreement with the manager. In fact, he was dismissed from a meeting against Wolves the previous year for being tardy, despite the fact that he scored the game-winning goal off the bench.
Sunday’s Daily Mail also reported that Rashford was not present at the restaurant in Manchester where a portion of the squad dined after the victory over Fulham.
