Ten new official photos released today show the continued progress on the Anfield Road Stand development.
Work on expanding Anfield’s capacity to 61,000 continues apace, despite the fact that Buckingham Group went into administration in September, and Rayner Rowen Construction, along with a number of other contractors, took over the project’s final stages.
The new images show the upper-tier seats fully installed, as well as a first look at the new extended general admission concourse, as well as design details coming to life inside the new stand.
There is still work to be done before the stand is fully operational and Liverpool FC can welcome 61,000 fans to Anfield on a matchday.
There will still be a need to hold a number of test events in order to meet all health and safety criteria mandated by Liverpool City Council.
These events will be used to test the building, systems, and management plans, as well as the welfare facilities, entry and exit procedures, and fire alarm evacuation. These events are scheduled to occur before the end of the calendar year. Once these events have occurred and a safety certificate has been issued, the top tier will be opened in stages.
Everyone at LFC, as well as everyone else involved in this project, is working tirelessly to complete the last touches and fully open the stand.
