Ratcliffe plans to build new-look Man United side around Bruno Fernandes

Reports say that Sir Jim Ratcliffe will not consider any offers for Bruno Fernandes because he sees the Portugal international as an important part of Manchester United’s plans to become successful again.

Recently, there has been talk about Fernandes’s future. It is thought that teams from Saudi Arabia are keeping a close eye on his situation at Old Trafford.

But the 29-year-old still has three years left on his deal, and the club can add another year if they want to. He was also made permanent captain of the team over the summer.

Fernandes has been a great addition to Manchester United since he joined from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020. In 202 games across all competitions, he has scored 68 goals and set up 57 others.

This season, the attacker has played 17 games and scored four goals and set up three others. On Saturday, he played the whole 90 minutes against Luton Town in the Premier League.

Football Insider says Ratcliffe, who is planning to buy 25% of Man United, doesn’t want Fernandes to leave, even though Saudi Arabia is interested.

Ratcliffe will likely be in charge of sports at Old Trafford once his arrival is confirmed. A deal will likely be made public during the international break.

The founder and owner of INEOS is said to see Fernandes as an important part of the team’s plans. The British billionaire thinks the Portuguese player should be the center of the team’s play.

Even though Man United has had problems this season, Fernandes is said to not want to leave Manchester United at this point in his career and is still fully committed to the club.

Ratcliffe is said to want to fully take over Man United at some point in the future. It’s not clear how long that might take, though, because the deal is so complicated.

It is thought that the businessman is thinking about firing CEO Richard Arnold, football director John Murtough, and head of football operations David Harrison.

Ratcliffe is said to want to bring in his own team and change the way the research department works because he doesn’t like the new players they’ve signed.

The chemical expert is said to want to know how Manchester United has spent £1.4bn on players over the last 10 years without getting any big wins.

Even though changes are planned, Erik ten Hag is still expected to keep his job as head coach. The team got a much-needed 1-0 win over Luton before the international break.
