Following their removal from Denmark’s squad for the forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers, Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen’s injuries have been updated by Manchester United.
After our 1-0 victory over Luton Town on Saturday, Erik ten Hag highlighted both of them as doubtful for their international assignments, crossing his fingers that their absence would be brief.
At Old Trafford, Eriksen was replaced by Mason Mount in the first half, while Hojlund originally kept playing despite undergoing treatment in the latter stages. In the closing seconds of the win, the striker was replaced by Anthony Martial, moving the Reds up to sixth place in the Premier League standings going into this most recent break.
Christian has a knee ailment that will keep him out for around a month, while Rasmus has a muscular strain. He is expected to return before the end of November.
Recently, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Jonny Evans, Casemiro, and Amad have all been sidelined by injury for Ten Hag’s team, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka was unable to play against Luton because of illness.
Naturally, Denmark would have preferred to have had Eriksen and Hojlund available as they aim to secure a spot in the European Championship finals in Germany the following summer. Although Kasper Hjulmand’s team is guaranteed a play-off spot, they are currently trailing Slovenia, who are leading Group H with 19 points.
Slovenia will play United in a crucial match on Friday, November 17, at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, where United played in the UEFA Champions League last week.
Evans will not play for Northern Ireland when the Danes go to Belfast the following Monday due to the Reds center-back’s confirmed thigh strain.
Hjulmand has added Jens Stryger Larsen of Trabzonspor and Jesper Lindstrom of Napoli, a midfielder, to his team as replacements.
