According to Football Insider, Manchester United are big admirers of Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.
The Seagulls stated last week (10 November) that Ferguson, 19, has signed a new contract extension until June 2029.
Brighton have brought the teenager in line with other top earners at the club, Football Insider revealed on Monday (13 November).
Man United, however, remain unfazed and continue to follow his growth in anticipation of a possible swoop in the near future.
They are one of several big Premier League and European clubs interested in signing Ferguson if his spectacular ascent continues.
The Red Devils chose to sign Denmark international Rasmus Hojlund during the summer transfer window in an attempt to replace their striking vacant for the foreseeable future.
However, Hojlund, who reportedly cost £72 million, has yet to score in nine Premier League games.
He has, however, scored five goals in four Champions League games and currently leads the competition in scoring.
Meanwhile, Ferguson has wowed both fans and critics since breaking through in the 2022-23 season.
Despite his young age, the Republic of Ireland player scored his first Premier League goal against Arsenal in December 2022 and has since gone on to score 11 times in the English top flight.
Although he only signed his most recent contract extension in March, Brighton had always intended to reward the forward if his spectacular ascent continued.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a British billionaire, is close to acquiring a 25% share in Manchester United, a move that is likely to increase investment in the Red Devils’ first-team roster.
Ratcliffe is ready to take over football operations at Old Trafford in the first stage of a gradual takeover, and he may add Ferguson to his wanted list.
In other news, the 23-year-old is getting closer to joining Manchester United.
