Noel Gallagher, a supporter of Manchester City, has urged Manchester United to appoint a manager capable of “properly reshaping the club” in place of Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag oversaw Manchester United to a third-place finish in the Premier League and the Carabao Cup during his impressive debut season in command in 2022/23.

The Dutchman, however, is coming under increasing pressure as a result of United’s disappointing start to the season. They have accumulated four victories in their last five Premier League contests; however, in recent weeks, they have barely scraped across the line to earn all three points.

To remain at Manchester United beyond this season, Ten Hag, who is among the favorites to be fired from the Premier League, must experience a significant improvement in his performance.

A number of prospective substitutes have already been mentioned, and Gallagher believes that appointing Thomas Frank from Brentford would be a prudent decision.

Stabilizing in the Premier League subsequent to their promotion from the Championship in 2021, the Bees have executed exceptionally well. They finished ninth in the table during the previous term and are presently positioned comfortably in the middle of the table.

Gallagher has provided an explanation as to why he believes Frank would be an ideal replacement for Ten Hag mustered by Manchester United.

Gallagher stated on talkSPORT, “United has always seemed a bit fractured to me, and their fanbase is quite influential; it all amounts to United at best treading water.”

“Other than that, there will always be an air of ‘we need to buy [Paul] Pogba, we need to buy [Alexis] Sanchez’ to appease the fans for a couple of weeks. United must find some individuals to lower expectations in the short term and then find someone like Thomas Frank to reshape that club properly from the bottom up.”

“United from the outside, the owners lack genuine football enthusiasts, genuine serious football individuals, and they do not adore the club, do not like it, and do not value the opinions of the fans.

“Those at the top lack seriousness, whereas the citizens of the city do.” United must take the Glazers more seriously; otherwise, they are only interested in what they can gain from the match.

Former Manchester United forward Louis Saha believes that Ten Hag’s recent success has been “saved by the performances of certain players.”

Saha told Betfred, “He has been saved by the strong performances of specific players, but not by Manchester United’s key players.”

“He signed Mason Mount, who, despite a respectable cameo against Luton on Saturday, has been unimpressive and has not done enough.

“Alexandr Antony is yet another acquisition who has remained on the substitute, and the lack of confidence among their key players, including Marcus Rashford, will not inspire or benefit the club’s youth.

“During my time at Manchester United, when I was feeling a little down, the team’s main players would exert tremendous pressure on me. Although I do not foresee that occurring with the current squad, we did observe it during the previous season. “This season has been peculiar thus far.”
