Sane is in his fourth season with Bayern Munich, having transferred from City for Bavaria in July 2020 subsequent to a four-year tenure.

Sane contributed to City’s 90 Premier League victories with 25 goals and 28 assists.

Since his induction into Bayern, he has accumulated 29 goals and 29 assists across 107 Bundesliga contests.

In June 2025, Sane’s current contract is scheduled to expire.

Bild reports that Bayern executives plan to initiate contract extension discussions with Sane upon his return from the current international break.

However, Bild also reports that Liverpool and City are eager to re-sign Sane to the EPL.

Sane was acquired by Bayern City for £54.8 million in 2020, according to Sky Sports.

Repatriating to England the following summer, the 27-year-old would probably demand a transfer fee of a comparable magnitude.

As a winger, Sane can operate with assurance on both ends of the field. If he were to return to the Etihad Stadium, where City manager Pep Guardiola is renowned for his propensity for squad rotation, his versatility would be of great benefit.

Sane would almost certainly spend the majority of his time on the left flank for Liverpool, unless his arrival at Anfield coinciding with the departure of Mohamed Salah.
