Fluminense are willing to entertain bids of up to £30 million for Andre Trindade, which is good news for Liverpool.
The Reds were dubbed “the best placed to close” a deal to sign the Brazilian international.
According to Football Insider, Liverpool has been assured that a £30 million deal will be accepted by Fluminense as January approaches.
Andre apparently “ticks a lot of boxes” for Jurgen Klopp, and after failing to buy him during the summer transfer window, the German may finally get his man in the winter transfer window.
The 22-year-old is most suited for defensive midfield, but he can also play on the left side of a midfield three in a box-to-box role, where his dribbling and accurate passing can shine.
Above all, adding Andre would provide Klopp with more stability in his squad.
Without a natural no.6, Liverpool has been unable to dictate the tempo of matches far too often this season.
Despite not being a defensive midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister has done an excellent job, and while he is capable of spreading the ball about the field, he is not suited to stopping counter-attacks.
If Andre joins in January, we’ll see the best of Mac Allister when he’s further forward and not as concerned with defending.
