During his Cameroonian national team’s match against Mauritius in the World Cup qualifying round, Onana had to be substituted.

Bryan Mbeumo, Georges Nkoudou, and Frank Magri all scored goals to give Rigobert Song’s team, who were playing very well, the victory.

The main drawback of the match was the substitution of Onana, which happened in the 81st minute.

Fabrice Ondoa took over for the United goalkeeper and finished the remainder of the match.

Actu Cameroun claims that Onana sustained an adductor injury. Supporters of Cameroon are reportedly concerned about the postponement, since there are just two months until the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) begins.

“André Onana will have to undergo medical examinations to determine the exact nature of his injury and the duration of his unavailability.” the news publication continues.

The length of time it takes to recover from an adductor injury varies depending on how serious the issue is. As a result, it might not be able to determine with certainty when Onana will be able to resume playing until more, in-depth tests are performed on the player.

It is known that Grade 1 recovery can take up to two weeks, with the restoration of normal movement, including walking, occurring in a matter of days.

In contrast, grade 2 strains may require three to six weeks to heal.

Onana’s Grade 4 strain, which would almost probably prevent the 27-year-old from playing for almost four months, would be United’s worst nightmare.

With Onana expected to join the ranks of Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Jonny Evans, and Amad Diallo, among others, United has a long list of injured players.
