After Madea, Steve Harvey comes. These obstacles are usually amusing. According to TMZ, comedian-turned-talk-show host Harvey, together with his spouse Marjorie, purchased Tyler Perry’s Buckhead estate in Atlanta, Georgia, for $15 million. Harvey is a self-help book.
Just the material from Harvey and Perry could launch a TV network. The sixty-three-year-old is the host of Miss Universe, “Celebrity Family Feud,” and “Showtime at the Apollo.” Perry has shows on Nickelodeon, OWN, BET, Netflix, and other networks. Both were homeless and lived in their cars before they were well-known entertainers.
Perry sold the 35,000-square-foot estate in 2016 for $17.5 million, after it had been listed for nearly two years at an outrageous $25 million asking price. The house, despite the millions of dollars that separated the asking price from the sale price, was the most expensive housing transaction in Atlanta.
Take a breather before perusing the numerous features of this seven-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom mansion. The location includes 17 acres of well-kept lawns, trimmed gardens, a 70,000-gallon pool with an infinity edge, a lit tennis court, a fully functional gym, and a separate spa.
The opulent home features a backup generator that can power the entire estate, a guesthouse, a guardhouse, a detached caretaker’s suite, and an intricate security system. The main mansion, with its French Provincial style, features an underground ballroom with catering kitchen, a wine cellar, and an indoor pool.
Buckhead.com claims that David Turner, a former businessman who is now an evangelist, purchased Perry and sold Harvey. His purchase of a house and business look absurd. He told the outlet, “I felt like God told me, ‘This is your house,’ when I went online and saw this house.” When Turner sold the mansion, he lost $2.5 million (not including carrying costs, improvements, and realtor fees).
Harvey is also listed for $1.1 million for a 6,500-square-foot estate in Little Elm, Texas, with five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, as well as a sizable property in Atlanta. He and his family had resided in a $100,000-per-month communal estate in the mountains above Beverly Hills, California, guard-gated by Beverly Park before purchasing the Perry residence.
