Tuesday’s 3-0 victory over Northern Ireland for the England U21s featured a masterful double from Harvey Elliott.

In the Young Lions’ U21 European Championship qualifying match, Elliott first scored for the team with a curling free kick in the second half, then added another goal with a dinked finish late in the game. Tyler Morton had opened the scoring for the Young Lions.

At Goodison Park, Jarell Quansah also initiated and concluded the interaction.

In other news, the Netherlands defeated Gibraltar 6-0 to complete their qualification for Euro 2024, with Cody Gakpo contributing to their victory.

After Virgil van Dijk played the first half, the attacker entered the game in the 77th minute and promptly finished the score.

In the 1-1 friendly between the Republic of Ireland and New Zealand, Caoimhin Kelleher also played for 45 minutes.

Towards the end of Scotland U21s’ goalless draw with Hungary, Ben Doak’s penalty was saved.

Later in the day, Calum Scanlon played in England U19s’ 7-1 thumping of Mexico to help them win the Marbella Cup, and Wataru Endo captained Japan for 83 minutes in their 5-0 victory over Syria in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.

In addition, Uruguay triumphs once more as a result of Darwin Nuñez’s two goals, which help his team defeat Bolivia 3-0.

He is now the only Uruguayan to have scored in four straight World Cup qualifying matches, along with Luis Suárez and Rubén Sosa.
