Before the international break, manager Erik ten Hag announced that neither Casemiro nor Lisandro Martinez will be returning before Christmas.
But, in the instance of Lisandro Martinez, there is a glimmer of optimism that he will be back soon.
The centre-back was spotted training at Carrington, performing modest work but still taking a step forward.
Lisandro Martinez on the way back
Lisandro Martinez was seen with a new look. The bleached blonde hair has been replaced by the World Cup-winning defender’s natural color.
A new look for a new beginning. It makes sense, given ‘The Butcher’s’ desire to reset and rejoin Manchester United’s first squad as soon as possible.
While he was not present for the entire training session, he was seen conversing with his colleagues. He’s definitely eager to get back into the action, and they’ll be glad to see him.
Double boost for Manchester United
Manchester United received an immediate boost when Luke Shaw returned to first-team training.
The England international defender will be considered for selection against Everton on Saturday. He will provide a much-needed lift to both the defense and the offense.
Having Shaw back now is a huge boost, and Martinez should be back in a few weeks.
What we hope is that Manchester United does not rush him back. His injury was a recurrence of the ailment that halted his 2022/23 season, so the club’s medical team will be extra cautious this time.
