Liverpool doesn’t appear to be planning to sign Andre during the January transfer window, despite some reports to the contrary.
According to reports, the Brazilian is currently more likely to transfer to Fulham.
This means that Jurgen Klopp needs to find a new target, and who better to sign than Joao Palhinha, who Fulham is hoping to replace with Andre.
The Portugal international is a tremendous value and a fantastic addition to Liverpool’s team.
He is the perfect transfer target because of his height, tackling prowess, and Premier League experience.
Palhinha’s lower cost than the €60–€65 million Bayern Munich had planned to spend in the summer before his move to the Allianz Arena collapsed at the last minute makes him even more alluring.
Reporter Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany reports that Fulham has said the 28-year-old will go to Bayern Munich for less than the “planned €60m-€65m in the summer.”
Palhinha is still on Bayern’s transfer list, the journalist continues, but they will most likely not spend more than €60 million to sign him in January.
It’s a financial concern, he continues, but signing him is still “far away from being done.”
Liverpool has the ideal chance to rekindle their interest in Palhinha because Bayern haven’t even started the negotiation process yet.
Because of his versatility as a left-sided no. 8 and his ability to play as a no. 6, Andre was an intriguing choice.
Thiago Alcantara might have addressed depth concerns in two areas because he is scheduled to depart the team at the conclusion of the season when his contract expires.
Conversely, Palhinha is a defensive midfielder at his core, which is just what Klopp’s squad needs.
