Mason Greenwood gets in trouble when the American brand Nike makes a statement

After the controversial football player shared some of their shoes on Instagram, Nike put out a statement to make it clear that Greenwood is not one of their sponsored athletes.

Mason Greenwood's Instagram activity prompts Nike to release statement

If you remember, the 22-year-old was sponsored by Nike before he was arrested. He shared a picture of himself wearing Nike Air Max 97s and another picture of his haul of expensive shoes.

Fans then asked if the American company was going to support the Getafe star again since the forward still wears their boots.

But that’s not true. When Nike learned that questions were being asked, they put out a statement to explain what was going on.

“Mason Greenwood is no longer a Nike athlete,” the American shoe company told the Daily Mail.

Greenwood hasn’t signed a new deal with any boot company yet since he was arrested. This is because Nike ended his contract. The English player can sign with another company, but because of his recent actions, it looks like no one wants to work with him.

The forward doesn’t play for Man United, which would have made him a big target for brands. Also, the 22-year-old isn’t likely to return to Old Trafford, so it might be hard to get a boot deal with one of the big sports companies.

It is not clear if this will get the player in trouble with Nike. The American company’s comment is likely to be the last thing we hear about this.
