Last season, Manchester City won the treble and were named “the Club of the Season” at the Ballon d’Or Ceremony. The team appears immaculate and unstoppable in their current condition. Nonetheless, they were defeated in the EFL third round by Newcastle United and in the FA Community Shield by Arsenal. So, after reviewing the situation, we identified certain areas for improvement that might assist them in retaining the Premier League title. If they succeed, City will become the first team to win four Premier League titles in a succession.
Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Arsenal are all in the title fight, and everyone has room to improve.
Three areas in which Manchester City must improve
1 . Replacement for Rodri
Manchester City is thought to have talented players at every position and could win championships even if their marquee players were not present. Only this season have they performed well without captain Kevin De Bruyne and have had the opportunity to rest Haaland. Rodri, on the other hand, is a player who Manchester City has been unable to replace.
The skilled midfielder drives City’s offense and dictates the tempo of the game. Since Gundogan’s arrival at Barcelona, Pep Guardiola has yet to find a “able” successor for Rodri. More intriguingly, three of Man City’s four losses have come without Rodri on the field. Despite De Bruyne’s comeback, City should look for a capable replacement for Rodri.
2. Aggression leading to needless free kicks
Manchester City plays attacking football, creating several chances and pressuring in defense. So far, the strategy has paid off, as they have won five league crowns in six seasons. They have given up far too many free kicks that could have been converted into goals. Furthermore, players are entering the books, and in relation to the previous point, Rodri is one card away from suspension.
3. Clearing up the medical room
Injuries have always been a stumbling block for teams, no matter how deep they are. In crucial games, players like De Bruyne’s brilliance is required. Pep Guardiola has a large roster, and players like Doku and Akanji are making significant contributions in games and might make it into the first team of many Premier League clubs. Having an influential player out for an extended amount of time, however, would hurt them against competent opponents like Liverpool, whom they will host this Sunday.
In the early afternoon, we have a big game against Manchester. The fact that Liverpool and Manchester City are separated by only one point makes the game much more interesting.
