With a goal against Liverpool on Saturday, Manchester City forward Erling Haaland became the fastest player in Premier League history to reach 50 goals. Haaland set the record in 48 games, breaking Andrew Cole’s previous record of 65 games established with Newcastle in the 1990s.
Haaland is only in his second season in the Premier League, having moved from the Bundesliga after five seasons. The 23-year-old striker scored 36 goals in 35 games for Manchester City in his debut season and has continued his scoring streak with 14 goals in 13 games this season.

Last season, Haaland set an EPL record with 36 goals. He’ll then try to break Alan Shearer’s record of 124 games to become the fastest to 100 goals. Haaland now leads the league with 14 goals this season, four more than Liverpool’s Mo Salah.
Saturday’s record-breaking goal gave Manchester City a 1-0 lead over Liverpool in a key battle, as Man City presently leads Liverpool by four points.
