The Norwegian put the Blues in command, but his striking partner missed a glorious opportunity to end the game, and the Merseysiders took advantage.

Quick Match Recap: Manchester City Draw Scousers, 1-1 - Bitter and Blue

Erling Haaland had only trained with “niggles” two days before Manchester City’s crucial game against Liverpool, but once the whistle blew, he appeared as physically sharp and hungry as ever and smashed his side into the lead, becoming the Premier League’s fastest player to 50 goals.

City dominated for the whole of the game, but Julian Alvarez squandered a golden chance created by the electric David Silva. With just over 10 minutes remaining, Jeremy Doku and Liverpool scored an equalizer through Trent Alexander-Arnold.

City went deep into extra time hunting for the victory, but couldn’t find it, and their long winning streak at home came to an end with 23 triumphs. Pep Guardiola’s team is still top of the Premier League, but they were reminded once more of Liverpool’s ability to keep them in check like no other team has in the last seven years.
