Manchester City player Kevin De Bruyne has provided an update on his ongoing injury recuperation. The Belgian international has been out since the first week of the Premier League season, when he suffered a catastrophic hamstring injury against Burnley.
However, the seasoned midfielder has said that he intends to return to the field in early 2024. When asked when he hopes to return to Sky Sports, the 32-year-old said, “Hopefully not long after the New Year.”
City are presently second in the Premier League rankings, one point behind Arsenal, who took the lead yesterday with a 1-0 win against Brentford. Kai Havertz’s last-gasp winner gave the north London club all three points.
After the former Chelsea playmaker had glided into the area unmarked, the German international headed home Bukayo Saka’s pinpoint cross. After the game, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta heaped praise on the summer signing, who had a rough first few months at the club.
“If things come easy, you don’t value them,” Arteta observed of Havertz. “He wouldn’t have gotten the reception he got today with everyone hugging him and telling him how much we love him if things had been easy.”
“There’s a reason for it; it’s because of how he acts in difficult situations.” He is an example for all of us to follow when faced with adversity.
“It’s an excellent example for the team.” We couldn’t be happier that such a great guy won the game for the squad.”
