Mac Allister played in yesterday’s 1-1 tie at Manchester City.

“Honestly, it’s so hard to play like this,” he admitted after the game at the Etihad. “We were in a meeting yesterday (Friday) talking about Man City and the way we wanted to play, and I couldn’t keep my eyes open.”

“It’s quite difficult. Long flight, jet lag, but it is what it is. We enjoy playing football because that is what we want, to win, and that is why we gave it our all (at City).”

“It was a very tough game for us,” Mac Allister told LFC TV. It’s what we expected, and they’re a great squad, but I think it’s a fair outcome. They held the majority of the possession, but they didn’t have many opportunities.

“I thought our fight was excellent. We didn’t defend as effectively as we could in the first half, but the second half was much better, we won more challenges, and it was critical to have the ball and score one.

“We always say we have to go step by step, game by game, and then at the end we will see what the season brings.”
