The 24-year-old joined Anfield last summer in a move worth an initial £64 million, and he scored 15 goals and provided four assists in his rookie season.

Nunez made his 60th game for Liverpool against the Sky Blues at the Etihad yesterday, which means Jurgen Klopp’s side must now pay the Lisbon-based club another £8.5m, according to The Mirror.

Our fee for the 24-year-old, who has a contract with us until 2028, is set to increase to £85 million once all add-ons are paid to his former club.

The Portuguese club has received a payout of £4.3m when he made 10 games, and this is the second further payment.
