Why did Bruno Fernandes allow Marcus Rashford to convert an Everton penalty?

Bruno Fernandes has been talking about Alejandro Garnacho’s incredible goal for Manchester United versus Everton.

Speaking following United’s unexpected 3-0 victory at Goodison Park, Fernandes observed that the Everton supporters weren’t exactly joyful the entire time.

Fernandes did, however, believe that for a brief while the home crowd may have been cheered up.

After the game, Fernandes told Sky Sports that he believed Garnacho’s magnificent goal might have even been celebrated on the home terraces.

“Everton fans were not that happy, but I think even they enjoy these kind of things,” he said.

After Antony Martial scored a fantastic team goal and Rashford scored from the penalty spot, the Red Devils then put the game out of reach in the second half.

After the match, captain Fernandes gave an explanation for why he sent the ball to the England forward rather than taking the penalty.

In an interview with Sky Sports that was obtained by the Mirror, Fernandes stated, “I felt Marcus needed a bit of confidence, and as Marcus is an excellent penalty taker too, I’m 100 percent sure that he could score that penalty.”

“It’s not about who takes it, it’s about scoring the penalty, and Marcus did it perfectly.”

As Manchester United gets ready for its trip to St. James’ Park the following weekend, they will have their sights set firmly on the top four.
