The Red Devils traveled to Goodison Park on Sunday to face the Toffees, but were missing the forward who had appeared in each of their previous five Premier League games. Hugill, a United academy product, was called up to the senior team in his place.

Antony has been ruled out with a knock, adding to United’s already lengthy injury list, according to the Manchester Evening News. Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Tyrell Malacia, Casemiro, Mason Mount, and Christian Eriksen were also out for Sunday’s encounter. United coach Erik ten Hag, on the other hand, was able to welcome back Luke Shaw and Kobe Mainoo from injuries.

Antony has appeared in nine Premier League games, but has only started three of them. He has yet to score a goal or record an assist. His absence gave Hugill, a 20-year-old attacker, a surprise opportunity with the Red Devils’ senior team. This season, the kid has six goals in eight Premier League 2 matches.

Ten Hag’s team got off to a fast start against Everton, with Alejandro Garnacho scoring a goal of the season contender inside three minutes. They were eighth in the rankings going into the game at Goodison Park, while the Toffees dropped to 19th after being docked 10 points.
