The three were unable to play against Liverpool on Saturday because Grealish was sick and Kovacic and Nunes were injured.

Guardiola stated prior to the Leipzig match that he does not anticipate any of his players returning in time for the Champions League match.

He said, “We have training and we will see this afternoon.” “We’ll work on recuperation day two, but I don’t have a lot of hope for any news about returnees. I believe the same folks that supported Liverpool will be there.”

On top of Kevin De Bruyne’s extended absence—he hasn’t played since the first week of the Premier League season—City has suffered a number of new ailments in recent weeks.

However, the Belgian made it known over the weekend that he planned to rejoin the team in January. “This is what he said. I had no idea,” Guardiola jokingly said.

“January will it be if he said so. Happy New Year to all of you! I would have wanted to have him for the entire season, but he has a serious injury that will require surgery, and he stated he will be back by the end of December or early January.

The only other player set to miss Tuesday’s match is John Stones, the other four listed above. The defender was included in the team for the match against Liverpool, but Guardiola disclosed during the match that he requires more time to recover from a more serious hip injury.
