Injury updates and expected return dates for Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, Stefan Bajcetic, Andy Robertson and Thiago

Jurgen Klopp is having to wait to see if Diogo Jota and Alisson Becker are healthy after suffering injuries in Saturday’s draw against Manchester City.

At the Etihad, Jota was replaced by Luis Diaz just after halftime, while Alisson required treatment late on as City sought for a winner before being attended to by the Reds’ medical personnel after the final whistle.

The pair might join Stefan Bajcetic, Andy Robertson, and Thiago Alcantara on the bench at Anfield ahead of a hectic month for Klopp’s team. Here are the most recent injury updates and return dates for the Reds’ injured players.

Alisson Becker

Following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at the Etihad, Klopp appeared to imply that the Brazilian had a hamstring injury, which he was seen gripping as he off the field at full time.

Expected return date: Unknown

Diogo Jota

Jota, like Alisson, was another member of the Reds’ traveling party whose fitness was called into question.

The Portugal international collapsed unnoticed on the ground early in the second half, holding a muscle, and was quickly replaced by Diaz.

Jota will have scans at the AXA Training Centre this week while Liverpool assesses the severity of his injury, which could keep him out of games against LASK and Fulham.

Andy Robertson

Kostas Tsimikas is anticipated to fill in for Robertson until at least January, with the Scotland international hoping to make a comeback after dislocating his shoulder in October.

Since colliding with Unai Simon during Scotland’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Spain last month, the left-back has not featured for club or country.

Expected return date: January 2023

Thiago Alcantara

Thiago is expected to be able to return to action in January as well. If his seven-month recuperation has taught him anything, it’s that injury returns rarely go as planned.

The Spaniard has not played for the Reds since April’s 2-1 victory against West Ham United, when it was deemed that shortening his 2022/23 season would benefit his summer return.

That has not been the case for the Spaniard, who returned to training briefly during the summer before suffering a setback early in the new season.

Expected return date: January 2023

Stefan Bajcetic

Bajcetic, like Thiago, has had an injury-plagued season at Anfield, making only two appearances across all competitions.

The Spaniard had an adductor injury in March and has had his progress slowed since, now suffering a new setback.

Expected return date: Unknown
