Man United fans were enraged when a TNT Sports reporter questioned Erik ten Hag ahead of the crucial Champions League match against Galatasaray

Manchester United supporters are enraged at a question posed to Erik ten Hag ahead of Wednesday night’s crucial Champions League match against Galatasaray.

United are the most in-form team in the Premier League right now, but they travel to Istanbul at the bottom of their Champions League group, facing elimination.

Ten Hag did his media obligations ahead of a European game, as he normally does, and one interview with TNT Sports quickly garnered the ire of Manchester United fans.

The interviewer suggests to Ten Hag that if United loses, they would be in ‘trouble,’ which ‘we want to see from the outside,’ according to the clip, which has since gone viral.

‘I know every week, you’ll know by now after 18 months, every week feels like a big week,’ the interviewer began, ‘but this feels like an important week for you at a point where the season can really improve or another crisis as we like to see from the outside.’

The Manchester United manager was quick to pull the journalist up on the 'honest' remark

Erik ten Hag was amused when a reporter stated that Manchester United being in ‘crisis’ is a positive thing.

The Red Devils have turned their poor season around ahead of their clash against Galatasaray

The Red Devils have improved their season before of their match against Galatasaray.

‘You like it?’ said a slightly surprised Ten Hag.

‘Well… I think, huh,’ the reporter replied.

‘That’s quite honest,’ said Ten Hag, who took it nicely. But none of that matters to us; it’s all about us. We got off to a good start this week, so now we have to keep going.’

However, United fans were not amused by the statement throughout the video and quickly condemned it on social media.

‘Journalists truly thought they could walk all over him from day one,’ one fan commented.

  • Manchester United's fans were totally unimpressed by the remark made towards Ten Hag

Manchester United fans were completely displeased by Ten Hag’s remark.

‘You’d think that after dropping multiple big players and taking no bullshit from all of his teammates, they’d have learnt that he wouldn’t be phased by them.’

‘Incredible comment,’ said another. Erik deserves credit for returning it.’

‘This is a very, very terrible example of unprofessional interviewing, and Erik ten Hag absolutely rips it apart,’ said a third.

Ten Hag is indifferent about outside noise and is completely focused on saving Manchester United’s Champions League campaign ahead of a Saturday night match against Newcastle.

His team overcame the environment at Everton to win 3-0 on Sunday, but they now face one of Europe’s most notorious atmospheres in Galatasaray, who are desperate for a win.
