Liverpool was informed that they would have to wait until at least January as the Brazilian midfielder intended to play out the entire Brazil season, despite Liverpool’s significant summertime interest in him.

This transfer was justified because the 22-year-old played 120 minutes to assist Fluminense win the Copa Liberatores for the first time in the team’s history. He is now free to leave in January.

Speaking to Kick.com, Fabrizio Romano believes that Fulham is now leading Liverpool in the fight for Andre. “There is an obsession with this Andre story,” Romano remarked. “Liverpool are still very well informed on the situation of Andre but Liverpool are currently not in negotiations with Fluminense.

“At the moment there is not a concrete discussion. That’s the reality. They (Liverpool) wanted him in the summer but they are not negotiating now.

“Fulham want Andre. Liverpool are just in contact with people close to Andre but they are not actively negotiating with Fluminense. I can’t predict the future.”

However, the transfer guru summed up the latest news with just four words regarding the Reds’ interest: Interest? Yes. Negotiation. No”

It doesn’t seem likely that another transfer would be investigated given that Liverpool spent a lot of money—more than £140 million—on midfield players this summer. especially because players like Stefan Bajcetic will also be returning to the fight.

Liverpool’s inability to have a true defensive midfielder is the only thing keeping them interested in midfielders. Although Alexis Mac Allister has performed in the most significant roles, he lacks the profile of Fabinho, who left in the summer.
